I have played millions of hands of chemin de fer. I started sneaking into the casinos when I was sixteen. I have gambled on online chemin de fer, I have counted cards, and worked as part of a team for a short time. With all that said I have still spent an abundance of money at chemin de fer. The casinos have made it almost impossible to beat the house.
I still like the game and play on a frequent basis. Over this time period I have wagered on a type of twenty-one called "The Take it Leave it Method". You won’t get flush with this method or beat the casino, still you will have an abundance of fun. This tactic is built on the idea that vingt-et-un appears to be a match of runs. When you are on fire your hot, and when you are not you are NOT!
I bet with basic strategy chemin de fer. When I don’t win I wager the lowest amount allowed on the subsequent hand. If I don’t win again I wager the lowest amount allowed on the successive hand again etc. Whenever I win I take the payout paid to me and I bet the initial bet again. If I win this hand I then keep in play the winnings paid to me and now have double my original bet on the table. If I win again I take the winnings paid to me, and if I win the next hand I leave it for a total of four times my original wager. I continue betting this way "Take it Leave it etc". Once I do not win I lower the bet back down to the original sum.
I am very strict and never "chicken out". It gets very fun sometimes. If you succeed at a few hands in a row your wagers go up very quick. Before you know it you are wagering $100-200/ hand. I have had fantastic runs a couple of times now. I left a $5 table at the Venetian a number of years back with $750 after 60 mins using this technique! And a few months ago in Sin City I left a game with $1200!
You need to understand that you can relinquish a lot faster this way too!. But it really makes the game more thrilling. And you will be aghast at the runs you notice gamble this way. Here is a chart of what you would bet if you kept winning at a five dollar table.
Bet 5 dollar
Take $5 paid-out to you, leave the original five dollar wager
Wager five dollar
Leave five dollar paid-out to you for a total bet of ten dollar
Wager ten dollar
Take 10 dollar paid-out to you, leave the first $10 wager
Wager $10
Leave $10 paid to you for a total bet of $20
Wager 20 dollar
Take twenty dollar paid-out to you, leave the initial twenty dollar wager
Wager $20
Leave twenty dollar paid-out to you for a total bet of forty dollar
Wager forty dollar
Take 40 dollar paid-out to you, leave the first 40 dollar bet
Wager 40 dollar
Leave forty dollar paid to you for a total wager of $80
Bet $80
Take eighty dollar paid to you, leave the original eighty dollar bet
Wager eighty dollar
Leave eighty dollar paid to you for a total wager of $160
Bet one hundred and sixty dollar
Take $160 paid-out to you, leave the initial $160 bet
If you departed at this point you would be up $315 !!
It is difficult to go on a run this long, but it does happen. And when it does you can’t deviate and lower your bet or the end result will not be the same.
